FarmerChat
FarmerChat is designed to support smallholder farmers with localized, real-time agricultural guidance while strengthening the effectiveness of organizations already working across extension delivery, agricultural finance, nutrition, and regenerative agriculture. Rather than replacing existing farmer-facing programs, the platform functions as decision-support infrastructure that helps reinforce learning between training sessions, extend advisory reach between field visits, and improve alignment between farmer decisions and seasonal conditions.
About This Offer
FarmerChat is an AI-powered agricultural assistant developed by Digital Green that gives smallholder farmers instant access to localized, verified farming advice through text, voice, or photo — in their own language. Rather than drawing on general internet content, FarmerChat is grounded in a curated knowledge base of government extension materials, international agricultural research and science, and locally sourced farmer expertise, enabling it to answer questions on crop management, pest and disease diagnosis, weather, and market prices with a level of local relevance that general-purpose AI tools cannot match. The platform is purpose-built for low-connectivity environments and for users who may have limited literacy, making it one of the only AI systems designed from the ground up for last-mile agricultural communities. It is built and maintained by Digital Green, an agricultural technology organization with nearly two decades of direct field experience working alongside farming communities.
